The owners of this
Edwardian house wanted a wildlife friendly garden with
naturalistic planting and an open view towards the lower
sloping woodland area. The garden has been neglected by
previous owners but there are some lovely mature trees
(some of which are subject to Tree Preservation Orders).
By adding a few new trees and sleeper steps down through
the woodland area this part of the garden will become a
haven for wildlife. An informal pool nearer the house
will be a beautiful focal point from the terrace. Two
small wildflower meadow areas with mown paths will
attract many insects and butterflies. There is space for
terraced vegetable beds and a herb garden near the
greenhouse, with espalier fruit trees on a curved
chestnut frame, to screen this part of the garden.
